All charter members and law enforcement officers who are active members of an HBCU or minority serving institutions (MSI) law enforcement agency, or who are employed in a position which, by statute, is empowered to exercise arrest; or hold law enforcement powers and whose permanent rank is that of Lieutenant or above; or an equivalent level of management responsibility.

 

Any regular member in good financial standing shall be entitled to vote on each matter submitted to members, and shall be eligible to hold office.  

"Founding" members shall have the status of "Lifetime Members" and are exempt from all annual dues and fees.

    HBCU-Law Enforcement Executives Association (HBCU-LEEA) benefits include:

    • Professional development opportunities including training conferences, workshops, and webinars. These help members to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in law enforcement, and develops new skills and knowledge.

    • Networking opportunities:  network with other law enforcement professionals from HBCUs and minority-serving institutions (MSIs) for new job opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations.

    • Advocacy: HBCU-LEEA advocates for the needs of law enforcement professionals from HBCUs and MSIs to ensure our professionals have access to the resources and support they need for success.

    • Mentorship: HBCU-LEEA provides mentorship opportunities to help develop careers and to achieve their professional goals.
